TCDC comprises members of the city and town committees. Most welcome registered Democrats at their meetings, but it's a good idea to confirm meeting dates, times and locations ahead of time.

Budget season has begun at the County—or perhaps I should say: this year started in budget season, and is now ramping up. We have been aware since January that this year’s budget would be tough, and have been looking carefully at every expenditure.

County Update

While careening towards a year-end government shutdown provoked by billionaire Donald Trump and his shadow president-elect, billionaire Elon Musk, GOP House leaders agreed to pass the current budget. They did so by promising GOP House members that they will slash Social Security, Medicare and veterans’ healthcare as part of a future budget agreement.
TCDC Special Meeting

TCDC’s 2026 Campaign Office opened to the public on Monday, August 3. The office is a shared space with the NY Dems Coordinated Campaign and the Josh Riley Campaign. It is located in the same building as it was in for the 2024 campaign: 119 West Green Street in Ithaca, across the street from Press Bay Alley.

TCDC Campaign Office Is Open

by Carolyn Maloney

In 1916, suffragists Alice Burke and Nell Richardson did something radical enough to shake a stalled democracy back into motion: they climbed into a gold Saxon motorcar—the Golden Flyer—and drove 10,700 miles across the country to demand voting rights for women. At a time when few women had driver’s licenses, or traveled alone, and women’s political participation was dismissed outright, their journey was nothing short of revolutionary.

January General Meeting Notice

Democrats Deliver a Strong Message

On Tuesday, we celebrated historic victories across the nation! From small towns to big cities, Democrats delivered a strong message to the Trump administration that Americans reject the Republican party's failed leadership and cruel agenda.

Less than a month ago, on Saturday, October 18, nearly seven million people rallied across America for No Kings II. Here in Ithaca’s Washington Park, around 5,500 people gathered for a rally organized by Indivisible Tompkins in protest of the Trump administration.

No Kings II Recap

The gathering presented a united front to illustrate that the power of the people is much stronger than the people in power.

"Hands off!"

Today, following the shooting in Minnesota, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer released a statement on the appropriations bill.

“Democrats sought common sense reforms in the Department of Homeland Security spending bill.”

Senator Schumer: We Won't Support ICE Abuses

It’s time to sign up to volunteer! We need your help to send Josh Riley back to Congress to keep fighting for our community and to reelect Anna Kelles and Lea Webb so they can continue their great work for all of us, including their efforts to stop data centers.

The Midterm Election

Tompkins County Democratic Committee Chair Linda Hoffmann encourages the public to participate in their democracy by signing petitions.

Petitioning Season Begins in Tompkins County on Tuesday, February 24

Our nation is at an inflection point. What kind of America will we be? A land of more freedom, or less freedom? More rights or fewer? An economy rigged for the rich and powerful, or where everyone has a fair shot at getting ahead? Will we lower the temperature in our politics and come together, or treat each other as enemies instead?

Write a short blurb about an issue your campaign is highlighting. Try to keep the text a similar size between the various issue blurbs.
